CURRENT SERMON SERIES

As we enter into a new year, we often open ourselves up to the wisdom of others. We will read a book that tells us how to be more organized, how to eat more healthily, how to be better at parenting or our jobs. The new year makes us open to new suggestions. While we are in that frame of mind, it seems only right to open our minds, not just to the wisdom of self-help books, but to the wisdom of the scriptures. More specifically, to this unique part of the bible called Proverbs. The proverbs are not commandments like you find in Exodus or Leviticus. They are not rules that are listed . But they are good and godly guidance written to help set us on the right path. This January , let’s dive into a few places in the book of proverbs to understand what the scriptures are saying and what great wisdom they have to give us.

Disafilliation Update
January 12, 2023
On Wednesday, January 11, 2023 - Riverview United Methodist held a vote to determine if the church would remain in the United Methodist Church. The vote, led by our District Superintendent, passed. This means that Riverview will continue in the direction of legally separating itself from the UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. The process for completing that legal separation will take several months and an additional church vote. The process should conclude at some point in the second half of 2023. Below is the message that Pastor Luke sent out to Riverview and our partner church Faith Community after the conclusion of the voting.

Do you want to join in the work of Christian unity?
Over the last several years, there has been a group of pastors and lay people from different churches in Beaver County who are committed to the work of racial reconciliation. The world is full of division. But we believe that through Christ at work in us the "dividing walls of hostility" are brought down. We are made one in Christ Jesus.
